Wedding Photography Trends 2022
Leading Imagery
March has arrived and it’s good to see some small signs of Spring in the air.
More good news is that last month, the government announced that, with effect from February 24th 2022, all Covid restrictions in England would be lifted.
Covid Mitigation
However, with that in mind, we still need to be responsible and here at Leading Imagery, we will continue to practice effective risk mitigation to reassure all of our clients.
- We are still operating and Appointment only basis to avoid crossover of Households
- Hand sanitisers are located at the entrance to the studio
- We regularly clean all surfaces with anti-bacterial cleaning products

2022 Wedding Photography Trends
So, finally, we are able to confidently say that weddings are back, after a period of two years without any restrictions. What a huge relief for us all.
Subsequently, 2022 is set to be one of the busiest years for weddings in a long time, squashing three years’ worth into one!
If you’re looking for some wedding day photography inspiration, here are some of the latest trends in wedding photography.
Proposal Shots
These shots ensure that the whole wedding experience is captured literally from the very start to the finish.
More and more people are opting to document their proposals, enabling them to share the news with family and friends and look back with fond memories. These are a pleasure to be part of.
Documentary Wedding Photography
Gone are the days of traditional wedding photography with lots of unnatural looking posed photographs.
Documentary photography is all about capturing those natural moments and candid shots of people enjoying the day.
Leading Imagery has long advocated a story-telling approach to wedding photography, ensuring minimal fuss and allowing more time with your guests, leaving you to enjoy your special day.
First Look Photographs
This is fast becoming a wedding day must-have.
These ‘first look’ images really do sum up the emotion of the day. When looking back, these images instantly evoke all the love and excitement of the day.
Whether it’s partners seeing each other for the first time or perhaps the most popular being when a father or mother first catches a glimpse of the bride, ready, in her wedding dress. We love them! It really is a truly happy and emotional point in the day which quite often brings tears of joy to everyone’s eyes.
Physical Wedding Albums
We always say it…looking at photographs on a phone or laptop isn’t the same as looking at beautifully presented images in an actual, physical album.
It’s one of the most exciting parts of your wedding day – choosing your favourite images and curating your very own wedding day story, to keep forever.
Wedding Albums did fall out of favour for a while, but we know that couples really do value them and they’re back by popular demand.
