Pet Photography at leading Imagery
Leading Imagery
Pet Photography at Leading Imagery is a professional, organised and all-round fun affair.
I’m not for blowing my own trumpet, but I can honestly say that over the years I’ve built up quite a good reputation for my pet photography shoots. I work with some of the UK’s top dog breeders from all over the country. Breeders want good quality images of their dogs and puppies but they want to do it in a way that causes as little fuss as possible. That’s why they need professional pet photography from photographers like me.
Phone Images are not the Same as Professional Images
Whose guilty of attempting to take photographs of our favourite pets when they’re pulling a particularly cute pose? Come on hands up – I know it’s you! The result – we fumble around for our phones, desperately trying to turn on the camera app. Whilst doing this, we’re still trying to keep the aforementioned pet in the same pose without disturbing them. Inevitably, you miss the shot you so desperately wanted to capture and end up with a slightly blurred image, probably the side of their face or even worse, their bottom! Nightmare!
Let’s face it. Taking pictures of animals and pets is no mean feat!
That’s how Leading Imagery can help. With over 17 years of experience as a professional photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to capture hundreds of beloved dogs and other pets. I love these shoots, nearly as much as I love my own dog – Alfie, the cocker spaniel.

Benefits of Professional Pet Photography
So first off, even if you do get to capture something in focus on your phone, there is a 99% chance that the image stays saved to your phone gallery, hidden away and soon forgotten about. Using a professional photographer enables you to have and keep and see your beautiful images each day. High-resolution quality images (no blurred lines) that can adorn your walls, sideboards, and coffee tables (or wherever you want to see them). I invest heavily in both my studio and studio equipment which enables me to produce the highest quality images.
Memories
Secondly, the reason we take pictures is to capture a particular moment in time. When we have pets and in particular puppies, this particular time in their lives doesn’t last that long. Before we know it, that clumsy bundle of fluff has grown and it’s hard to remember those funny moments when butter wouldn’t melt in their mouths. Having a professional photoshoot enables you to capture and keep those precious moments (at whatever age) forever.
Experience
Thirdly and an extremely important point is that using an experienced photographer ensures you’re using someone who knows exactly what and how to capture those special moments. It’s not just about obtaining an image, it’s about capturing the subject personality. Whether they’re cheeky, inquisitive, a daydreamer or a grump, these personality traits are all reflected in the images I produce. I’ve worked with enough animals over the years to be able to anticipate what they’re about to do next. All of the photoshoots here in my studio happen in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. If you want props, we can use props but it’s not essential. The most important thing in my shoots is for everyone (including the models) to feel relaxed and to enjoy it.
